 Santiago Exchange celebrates its 125th Anniversary with the Chilean Authorities and Executives of the Financial and Capital Markets

Regulating authorities, business leaders and representatives of the Chilean Financial and Capital Markets met at the Santiago Exchange Trading Floor on November 27, 2018 to celebrate the Exchange's 125th Anniversary.

The Santiago Exchange Chairman, Juan Andrés Camus, welcomed the attendees highlighting the leading position reached by the Santiago Exchange and its contribution to create a more competitive, transparent and open Capital Markets in Chile throughout the years.

"In these 125 years we have always been moved by the mission of contributing to finance the development of the country, facing the challenges as opportunities consistently and objectively”.

The Chairman of the Exchange also remarked on the role played by the Santiago Exchange in Chile’s Capital Markets transformations: the demutualization of the Santiago Exchange as a milestone for the market in 2017, the promotion and incorporation of the ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) elements in the corporate structure of the companies listed and the Exchange itself as a company, the creation of a new generation of indexes like the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile and MILA, as well as the constant fostering of innovation and entrepreneurship in Chile.

    Santiago Exchange’s Board of Directors is currently composed of eleven members, which together elect a Chairman. The law specifically states that the board must be made up of at least five members, who may or may not be shareholders, and must hold elections annually, where members may be reelected. 

  • What information should I submit to apply for dual listing on Santiago Exchange, Venture?

    Companies listed on TSXV must send an application letter requesting the dual listing (see attached documents) and send it to the Santiago Exchange for registration.

    According to article 38 of the Securities Market Law, stock exchanges are organizations that aim to provide their members with the necessary infrastructure to effectively carry out securities transactions through continuous public auction and to perform other intermediation services in accordance with the law.
